JOHN NASH’S BOLIVIA BLUES: one man’s struggle to find comfort in Bolivia
THE BLAIR in ARGENTINA SERIES:Blair’s set includes same great shots of Buenos Aires nightlife with friends, the polo scene and a few candid Thornhill pics. Excellent Work.
BUENOS AIRES: With My Mother and Sister. My mother and sister were among my first visitors in Buenos Aires. It rained all week, which is an unusual for any season here. But despite the rain and any calamitous inconvenience that run with family travel, we had a wonderful time in the old world charm of Buenos Aires. Of course, my mother and sister loved best the Old Man’s Café. The coffee really is that much better in Buenos Aires.
BUENOS AIRES HIGHLIGHTS: Arguably the worst photographer of all time, I’ve captured bits and pieces of life here. More than a city of crumbing buildings and sidewalk cafes, Buenos Aires is a refuge of lazy inspiration. Sometimes, it’s so crowded I fear the crush of overpopulation. At other times I feel like the only inhabitant of a quiet metropolis. Mostly, it’s a city of rhythms. It’s a city to find rhythm. It’s a city with soul. I can’t remember how many hours I’ve logged at The Café or walking around Rosedal. In fact, if anybody asks me, “what’s so special about one café, one park”? The answer is, I don’t know. But I wouldn’t take a second of it back. Forgive my photography. Buenos Aires is far more beautiful than I can capture it with my faulty camera skills.
THORNHILL’s PATAGONIA ADVENTURE: Fearless, tireless, incredibly ubiquitous, Matthew Thornhill experiences Patagonia with three of his more intrepid friends. The Bostonian made quite an impression on the locals, SUPERTREKkING like El Perito Moreno, clad in a little less than what’s recommended by experts. The following pictures are arranged chronologically.
PATAGONIA: Arriving in El Calafate truly feels like standing on the end of the world. And right when you leave the airport and the wind knocks at you, the word that surfaces is “magic”. The mountains, the glaciers, the sparse and majestic moonscapes, it all sticks with you…Spending even a little time in Patagonia might change your world view (I’ll post Blair’s photos when he sends them)
